These are stainless steel with a satin finish, of very high quality and rival Mitutoyo. They are in good shape, but have few scratches and the number 605 lightly scratched on them.
The wood case does have some damage. There is a 1/2" dent in the top and a small piece of wood missing inside and one of the latches is broken.
