Marquette Brazing Flux is a compound for use with the oxy-acetylene, or Arc Torch, in the general brazing of steel, malleable iron, cast iron and galvanized metals. It is also used when fusion welding copper, brass, bronze and other copper alloys.
This flux cleanses the metals, readily dissolving any oxides that may be present or may be formed during the brazing operation. These oxides form a low melting point, fusible slag, permitting the filler metal to flow freely, and to form a non-porous, oxide-free weld.
Warm the rod in the flame, then dip into the flux. A sufficient amount of the flux will adhere to the rod to clean the weld and cause the filler metal to flow freely.
