The MS-1003B frequency standard is an easy-to-use instrument that provides exceptionally high accuracy, multiple square-wave outputs from 10-MHz to 1-Hz, plus the lowest cost in the industry for a professionally-designed, warranted instrument.

* Atomic Lock must be achieved by progressing through a normal warm-up and frequency sweep cycle (typically takes about 5 minutes after cold start)
* Oscillator frequency output must remain stable within +/-5E-9 Hz within all times after lock.
* Oscillator frequency output must eventually fall within +/-5E-10 Hz of absolute 10-MHz frequency.
* The oscillator must function without fault and within tolerance during a 48-hour burn-in cycle.

The MS-1003B generates square-wave signals at full TTL levels (zero- to 4.5-Vp-p) with extremely fast rise times (typical rise time for 10-Mhz output is less than 3-nanoseconds). To minimize overshoot, ringing, and crosstalk on these fast-transitioning signals, the MS-1003B includes waveform conditioning on all frequency output lines of 10-KHz and higher.
Some counters and other electronic equipment are sensitive to pulse width, preferring other than the standard 50% duty cycle (positive pulse width vs. overall pulse width). The MS-1003B will generate a wide range of duty cycle levels for the 10-Mhz output lines. Duty cycle is easily adjusted from as low as 20% up to 80%. This range is sure to meet the input demands of even the most "stubborn" externally-interfaced equipment.
The MS-1003B offers six fixed-frequency outputs and three frequency-selectable outputs. The high-band output can be switched between 1-, 5-, and 10-Mhz. Two low-band outputs can be switched, independently, to 100K, 10K, 1K, 100-, 10-, and 1-Hz. All outputs are full TTL-level (0- to 4.5-Volts).
A built-in, temperature controlled fan only activates when the interior temperatures reach a level that might shorten the life of the oscillator. When the fan is activated, it is "throttled back" and runs quietly. The MS-1003B will deliver years of reliable service with no work-area distractions.
Support electronics were manufactured from new, high-quality components. Housing was designed to minimize emissions and to optimize the temperature environment for the oscillator. High-quality, gold-plated BNC output connectors use Teflon dielectric.
