This Bridgeport M Head features a step head thats capable of 4250 rpm and 9x42 t-slotted table with vise. Power is 208-240V 3-phase. It can be stepped down to single phase with a static phase converter.
* This was the head fitted to the first Bridgeport milling machines and had 3.5-inches of quill travel through both fine and quick-action feeds by hand operation only.
The spindle could be ordered with a No. 2 Morse, B & S No. 7 or a B-3 taper - and the maximum collet capacity was 0.5 inches. Special tapers were available to order and it is highly likely that a factory already equipped with tooling to a different specification might have ordered its machines so as to be able to mount cutters already in stock.
The 0.5 h.p. motor was available as either a 1200 rpm unit - which gave spindle speeds of 275, 425, 700, 1050, 2100 and 4250 rpm - or as a 3600 rpm model with rather higher spindle speeds of 950, 1350, 2200, 3250, 6500 and 12000 rpm.
The unit could be mounted either on the front or back of the ram and, if on the latter, fitted to a swivel adaptor that allowed it to be angled in both planes.

We recommend you hire a professional service person to wire the machine, test it and perform any necessary service adjustments before putting it in to production. INSPECTION NOTES- Head runs good. Quill travels smooth. Quill powerfeed not functioning. Table travels smooth. Backlash should be adjused. Knee travels smooth. Gibs should be adjusted.
∙Items over 1000 lbs. less than 3000 lbs. will be sent via open-bed freight. Open-bed freight trucks allow the item to secured to the truck bed. These items cannot be palletized, put on a skid or crated through our company. We prepare these items for transit by wrapping the item's electrical components with stretch wrap and spraying down any exposed metal surfaces with protective oil. These items are with-in our forklifts capacity and we will load them on to an open-bed freight truck at no charge. We may charge a rigging fee if we do not feel comfortable loading the item and contract machinery movers to load for us. This is usually the case with top-heavy items, such as grinding machines.
