About selecting the correct power adapter:
Amperage: Amperage (Amps, A) represents the maximum draw that your device can draw. You must select an adapter that has the same, or HIGHER amp rating than the device it will power. It is good to use an adapter that can handle a bigger load than your device draws, this way the adapter will run cooler and more stable. Running a 2 amp device on a 2.5 amp adapter means the adapter will not have to work as hard.
Voltage: The voltage (V) of the adapter has to be an exact match with the voltage of the unit you want to use it with.
